| Lorraine walks everyone through the stunt.
||Well, here we go again. Another update where I can’t express in enough words how amazing, bonding, life-changing, poop-your-pants scary my latest experience was.
I was asked to be a coach alongside amazing DH Canadian shredder, Lorraine Blancher up in her territory… The Kootenay Mountains outside of Nelson, B.C. *GULP* A coach eh?
The terrain is steep. REALLY STEEP. But rideable, if you learn from Lorraine, who will change the meaning of “ride like a girl”, TRUST ME. I really understand how to use my bike after this. I’m still a little stiff and nervous on the steep stuff, but I charge it now. Just like life. Huh.
The women we taught and rode with were amazing. Of course. Gnarly women who don’t usually befriend females. They will now. The gnarly, real, non-judgemental, supportive ladies are out there. When they come together to share a sport like this, they inevitably bond. They encourage each other to ride things they didn’t think they could ride. They support each other if they crash. They share the moments and the ride for life. Amen.
This women’s retreat came with all the perks! Deliciously healthy food from Retallack chef Yves, Yoga, life-coaching, holistic nutrition, smoothies and so much more. I can’t wait to get more women (people) up to Retallack for the backcountry mountain bike experience of their lives. Retallack.com
