How it works

[divider line_type=”Full Width Line” custom_height=””]

Our summer season runs from July until October. Our booking staff will be pleased to help you decide on an adventure that is right for your schedule, ability and price range. Retallack mountain biking is best suited for intermediate to riders. Let us help you make the most of your backcountry mountain biking experience with Retallack!

Many of our clients and groups return year after year. As such, our packages book out early so it’s best to grab a slot as soon as you can – check out our Mountain Biking Packages and Availability. Our clients get first crack at their same slot the following year. This option expires 14 days after the end of your trip and you lose your priority for your future requested slot. We require a 25% non-refundable deposit upon booking or rebooking, an additional 25% by May 1 and the remainder of the 50% balance on June 30. A 50% deposit is required if booking after May 1 and a 100% deposit is required if booking after June 30. If we are unable to accommodate you, we would be happy to add you to our waiting list.

Retallack is one of those out-of-the-way places that you’ll never forget. Bring a group of friends anytime!

All credits have a two-year expiration date (see CREDIT POLICY below). We will not provide a refund or credit for accommodation or meals that have been used.

In the above example, this timeline allows the rider to utilize the credit for the remainder of the 2014 season, the full 2015 season, and the beginning of the 2016 season.

Credits are held in the guest’s name, however they can be utilised as follows:

    • Put towards the cost of a future trip for the guest;
    • Sold to another rider;

CANADIAN BORDER & CUSTOMS

[divider line_type=”Full Width Line” custom_height=””]

Each guest is responsible for conforming to Canadian Customs and Border Regulations. If you are coming from the United States, it is very important to understand the process of entering Canada. When you cross the border into Canada, you will need your passport. The immigration officers will inquire about your personal history, the purpose of your visit, and what you are bringing across the border with you. Among other things, alcohol, tobacco, prescription drugs and cash are all subject to import limitations and excess quantities may be taxed. You are not allowed to import fresh fruits and meats, firearms, or mace. They may search your vehicle, so please pack carefully.

The Canadian Border Information Service can be contacted at:

    • Within Canada 1-800-461-9999
    • Outside Canada 1-204-983-3500

The Nelway Border crossing is located between Metaline Falls, Washington and Salmo, British Columbia:

    • Hours: US and Canadian customs open 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 a.m. (midnight), daily

The Patterson Border crossing is located between Northport, Washington and Rossland, British Columbia

    • Hours: Canadian and US customs open 24 hours a day, daily.

Canadian Immigration regulations restrict anyone from entering the country who has a conviction that would be considered a criminal charge in Canada. Persons with DUI charges or drug convictions (anytime during your lifetime) have a very high probability of being denied entry into Canada. Your records in the US can be accessed by Canadian Customs & Immigration officers through co-operative agreements between the US and Canada.

For those who have a record, it is recommended you pre-determine your entry status prior to arriving at the border.  RETALLACK is not responsible, or liable to make any refunds, for guests who are denied access at the border. A one-time visitor application can typically be made at the Canadian border for approximately $200 CAD, taking up to four hours to complete. A permanent application for visitor entry can be made through the Canadian Embassy and Canadian Consulates in the US for a lesser amount ($35 CAD) however; this process can take up to 16 months. Some visitors with such convictions have successfully gained entry by pre-arranging their border crossing application and carrying letters from their home police force, clergy, etc. indicating their compliance with the rules over the past five years or more.

We suggest you communicate with a Canadian Immigration office prior to your planned trip if you have past charges. Random checks into this background information do not happen to everyone, but they are common.

LIQUOR POLICY

[divider line_type=”Full Width Line” custom_height=””]

Due to the specifics of British Columbia Liquor Laws, any alcohol on the premises must be purchased under our liquor license. As a result, guests are not permitted to bring their own alcohol to Retallack Lodge and will be asked to leave it in their own vehicle. Retallack Lodge is stocked with a full selection of beers and spirits and has a full range of British Columbia wines along with a limited selection of high-end wines from around the world. Please contact our office for special requests.
